Since its founding in 1997, BSOE has been at the forefront of innovation, tackling some of the world's most pressing challenges. From pioneering the UCSC Genome Browser in 2000 to establishing the Center for Research in Open Source Software (CROSS) in 2015, our faculty and students have exhibited unwavering dedication, curiosity, and commitment to advancing technology for the betterment of society.
