During the pandemic, KZSC helped retain students who otherwise would have ended their time at UCSC. Even while sheltering in place, KZSC offered students a sense of belonging, community, and collaboration through radio. Through social media, one-on-one meetings with new volunteers, and student developed lab curriculum that allowed students to learn radio independently in one of our recording studios, KZSC was able to retain it’s usual number of student programmers for future academic years that would have otherwise had gaps in programming because of this adaptive thinking.
These resources have been available to UCSC students for over 50 years because of listeners like you who choose to support it. We hope you'll join together with your fellow fans of KZSC to help boost this critical service and share your love for independent, nonprofit radio.
Thank you for being a valuable listener!
