Pause for Paws

Study after study have shown that taking regular breaks while studying can help improve focus and attention. Students often forget this and will try to cram for tests - especially during finals week - which can have a detrimental effect on their academic performance.

Pause for Paws is an innovative animal therapy program created by the UCSC Library to help remind UCSC students to take a break from studying and de-stress during finals week.

The program has been wildly popular and successful. In fact, it's been so popular we can hardly keep up with the demand for our canine volunteers' attention!

We want to expand the program so we can serve more students, more often.

Expanding Pause for Paws is no small task and we need your help. We are asking our community to help us raise $1,500.

Through the library's general fund, the money will be used to actively outreach to dog owners in the community, support the training program the dogs must pass, and administrative support to coordinate our human and canine volunteers.

Thank you in advance for your gift!
